Our student of the month for October is John Reich! John is another adult student of mine, one who has been riding with me for over 5 years now! He started out riding English and jumping a thoroughbred I had at the time, then quickly realized he wanted to stay closer to the ground. So a few years ago he bought a reining horse, staying closer to the ground but still keeping some speed! Since then he has started competing at open shows and AQHA shows in Ranch Pleasure and some Reining! He and his horse, Willy, have learned a lot together as John decided he wanted to do most of the training himself, and they have come a long way!
John has been an awesome student over the years. He works extremely hard to build relationships with his horses, the Reining horse and a trail horse he bought later as well. He’s always up for trying new adventures with them and pushes himself to reach all of his riding goals. He has always been a lot of fun to work with and I’m always impressed by his strong work ethic to keep both of his horses in shape. I am very excited to see where he’s headed in his showing career! Next year should be his best year yet!
(I can’t believe I have no pictures of John and Willy after so many years! But I do have pictures of Willy at least, so that is the horse pictured above!)
